In this K show 2010, we will exhibit EPS compactor/densifier, single shaft and twin shaft shredders, pipe belling machine, screws, manual screen changers and hydraulic screen changers.

Harden is keen to produce high quality with reasonable plastic machinery for more than 10 years. The most popular pelletizing method is strand pelletizing system. It is mainly applied to the granulating of PA, PE, ABS, PVC, PP and PS, etc. Also, it can be used to plastic pelletizing after blending, filling, and enhancing. Moreover, it is suitable for the cutting of non-absorbent master batch. This strand pelletizing system consists of water bath and strand pelletizer.

Water ring die face cutting system is applicable for the pelletizing of hot melt EVA, TPU elastomer, cable and other thermoplastic materials.  It is composed of the water ring pelletizer head, warm water circulatory system, separation system and screening system.

Air ring die face cutting system is suitable for thermoplastic and engineering thermoplastic materials. It has advantages of good pellet appearance, low power consumption, simple, slide durable, easy for operation and maintenance, and no need drying for the pellet. The melt flow speed of the processed material should not be too slow as the pellets may stick together.

Under water cutting system is mainly used for the pelletizing of PE, PP, PS and PVC.  This system is complicated. The gaps between the rotary cutter and the surface of the porous template is small. It is easy to block the template if there is improper operation.

Innovative Extruder

The most striking product in the booth of Harden Industries Ltd, China, was the running innovative extruder based on the theory of elongation rheology. The machine is composed of several melt pumps, which is totally different from the conventional screw type extruders. The company claimed that the machine can save 30% of energy compares to conventional extruders.

Innovative plastic extruder

Sales manager of the company putted a red colorant into the extruder feeding port, and very soon it is seen that the film became red from natural colour and the coloured film came of the die evenly and nicely.

Another machine was a two shaft shredder for shredding woven sacks,   agriculture film, carpet, irrigation hoses, and non-woven fabrics. At the booth was also exhibited a low noise EPS foam shredder and a Styrofoam compactor. The foam shredder can be used to make foam flakes in replacement of peanut foam cushion material, and the EPS foam compactor can greatly reduce the volume of EPS foam scraps that enable scrap collectors to greatly reduce transportation cost of light weight foam scraps, which is composed of 98% air.

The desktop injection moulding machine is another machine that first time shown at Chinaplas this year. The small injection press was jointly developed by Harden Industries and a local university. It is used for the application of small batches production of small parts and for lab testing purposes. Cost of such a machine is less than half of a similar machine from the US or Europe.

Other products the company exhibited include screen changers and feed screws. About 70% of the company’s products were sold to international market, mostly to developed countries. “We positioned ourselves as top quality product supplier in China.” said the company management, “by cooperating with our friends from Germany, Italy and the US, we are supplying fairly good quality machines with affordable price to European and North American market. Due to the current economic situation, more and more Western companies are coming to use for lower cost options.”

1. Innovative Extruder
1.1  Back ground:  The first extruder was invented by British in 1845.
The first patent of feed screw for plastics processing was filed in
1928. For many years, basic plasticizing and pressure generator has
been screw type mechanism.
1.2  Features of the patented new extruder: Composed of several melt pumps stacked together. Small in size, equivalent L/D of 4 to 6 compares to a conventional screw type extruder, which usually has L/D of 18x 38. This extruder saves 20% to 30% of the energy compares to a conventional screw type extruder.
Improved mixing ability: Versatile to different material, no need to change mechanical components of the extruder when switch processed material.
1.3  Applications: Various extrusion process, including sheet, film,
pipe, profile, and injection plasticizing process.
1.4  Market: An alternative to conventional screw type extruder. New machine lines and replacement of existing extrusion lines for energy saving and improving product quality.

2. EPS Foam Shredder and EPS compactor
Greatly reduce the volume of EPS foam scraps that enable scrap collectors to greatly reduce transportation cost of light weight foam scraps, which is composed of 98% air. As less than 25% of the EPS foam scrap is being recycled and many foam scraps end-up land fill, which takes up too much space, these foam shredders and foam compactors really a green technology that to reduce waste and for recycle foam scraps.

3. Two Shaft Shredder for Woven Sacks Recycling
Application: recycling of PP woven sacks, non-woven fabrics, carpet,
plastic drums, and plastic panels. Features: Strong knives, robust base frame, easy for maintenance. Single Shaft Shredder for Plastic Bottles and Drums Recycling Characterized with a slant hydraulic pusher, the machine can be used for recycling of plastic bottles, plastic drums, extruded lumps, and other plastic scraps.
